In the aftermath of the Sox' loss to their bretheren from the Windy City, BLOHARD EVP and email listmeister Jim Shea penned the following observations:

I listened, on the radio, to the end of the game as I went out to pick-up take-out, for my family (including my daughter Courtney who was home after just recently starting her Masters at BC)……

(I had left after the bottom of the 6th and was, frankly, ….not too sanguine about our chances after having left 3 guys on with no outs……..)

As I pulled into my driveway ….. Edgar grounded out to second ….. and as I pulled into the garage ….. I could hear a song being played in the background, by the ownership…. A song that my daughters were quick to identify as ‘Green Days’ “Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)".

I’d heard of the song before, having had teen-agers for the past decade, but was struck by how apropos it seemed at that moment …..

I’m certain that, you, too, have heard this song before……but I’d like to ask that you include it on the multi-media pageof our website [ no can do - those darn record companies are so persnickety about their copyrights] because I thought it did an excellent job of conveying how all of us feel at this point…..

(In fact, I’ve taken the liberty of pasting the lyrics to the song below this post….)

I’m sad …. But, strangely…. Still feel good about how our team performed this year despite the major obstacles (Schilling, Foulke, etc….) that we had to hurdle…

I’m confident that Sox management will continue to give it their best …. And that their best …. will be the best …… that league management has to offer…..

Needless to say ….. I love the Sox ….and thank God that I am a Sox fan …….

I wish the White Sox only the best ….. and I hope that the gods of Baseball give all those long suffering fans of the ‘South-side’ the same treatment they gave us this past year….

(I also hope that we don’t face the Cubs in the World Series next year ……)

God Bless Our Red Sox and their qwnership …..

GO SOX-2006!!!!

"Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life)"

Another turning point, a fork stuck in the road
Time grabs you by the wrist, directs you where to go
So make the best of this test, and don't ask why
It's not a question, but a lesson learned in time

It's something unpredictable, but in the end it's right.
I hope you had the time of your life.

So take the photographs, and still frames in your mind
Hang it on a shelf in good health and good time
Tattoos of memories and dead skin on trial
For what it's worth it was worth all the while

It's something unpredictable, but in the end it's right.
I hope you had the time of your life.

It's something unpredictable, but in the end it's right.
I hope you had the time of your life.

It's something unpredictable, but in the end it's right.
I hope you had the time of your life.
