Born in Boston and raised in Vt., I've been a Red Sox fan all my life. It hasn't been easy! After marrying a Yankee and moving to NY, he has badgered me to change loyalties continuously. However, I managed not only to resist, but to raise our (only child) daughter as a Sox fan, too.

Today, at my health club, I saw a man with a Red Sox cap, and as is always the case with me, I began a conversation. He informed me of the Blohards. Wow, after nearly 40 years (in June) of suffering in isolation, here is a chance to bond with fellow fans like myself, right here in the city I adore (except for the Yankees)! Please add me to your list, and send me any info. informing me of ways to join others like myself in Red Sox-centered fun.

FYI: This passionate support may be a terrible generational addiction. My dad started me down this path but died before the ball went through Billy Buckner's legs, thank heavens. Now it's my turn with my own child. Well, I'm either an undying optimist or a fool. I prefer to believe I'm the latter and am hoping that with our pitching staff, this is finally "OUR" year.
