BLOHARDs in the News

In May of 2007, we got ink from both the Quincy Patriot Ledger, and the BU Free Press.

The Globe's brilliant Alex Beam deigned to dine with us in September of 2005. Here's what he thought.

Before the early summer 2004 showdown with the Yanks, we got some non-hostile ink from Kevin Kernan of the New York Post.

Kernan was back with another gracious piece in the aftermath of our audacious flaunting of the World Series trophy in the very belly of the beast.

The Globe was all over our June 29th 2004 meeting

2003: Blohard Potentate Jim Powers Headlines Connecticut Day at the Fens
The same story gets a mention in the ProJo under the headline "BLOHARDS reign on Connecticut Day at Fenway"

Life Magazine Editor and dues-paying member Robert Sullivan talks about the BLOHARDS in this article about the 2004 ALCS entitled "Getting It Done", in this article about the 2003 ALCS , and again in this one about the Sox, his father, and Ted Williams.

Sullivan once again, mid-season 2005.

Here's a nice article from the Times in 1989;

This one, by Henry Berry was published in the 1984 Red Sox Yearbook. It's as close to a definitive description of the orgins of the BLOHARDS as you're going to find anywhere.

Joe Gergen (of Newsday?) wrote about us during the Kevin Kennedy 1991 meltdown

Henry gets a little optimistic for the Daily News in 1986. (He should have known better.) The picture that went with this article is here.

Sullivan one more time, in two parts, wrote a beautiful article about the Blohards and particularly the annual bus trip to the home opener that appeared in Sports Illustrated in 1986. Part one is here, while part two is here.

This 1986 article from the Times, again in two parts, features "Red Sox fan" Suzyn Waldman offering advice to fellow members of the Nation on how to not get torn apart at Yankee Stadium. Part one, and part two.

And finally, the Globe weighs in in this 1987 article.
