7:05 - Bosox Breeze By Bronx Bastids
Please accept our warm (and it will be WARM) invitation to gather with fellow non-vacationing New York-area Red Sox fans for the second (and final) BLOHARDS' luncheon of the 2007 season.
As of this writing, the Home Towne Nine sits atop the A.L. East by a healthy margin, one that figures to increase as the
Sox play Tampa Bay 37 times down the stretch. The Sox have built the lead despite an injured Schilling, a power outage
from Papi, and J.D. Drew bringing his best Randy Kutcher imitation with him to Boston. And that is not even
addressing Lugo's dance with the Mendoza line. Fortunately, Lowell, the kid Pedroia, Youk, Tek, and now Crisp are
playing great and Manny is no longer being Manny Alexander. The pitching is the best in the A.L., led by Beckett,
Papelbon, Dice-K, and perhaps the team's MVP to date, Mr. Okajima.
Over in the Bronx, the enigmatic Yankees put down a few football scores on the aforementioned Devil Rays, then continued their mastery of Double-A pitching by winning a series in Kansas City. Given time limitations, however, our luncheon program will most likely overlook these positives to reflect on STRAY-Rod's trip to Toronto, a quick break-even on the Kei Igawa investment, and Suzyn Waldman's screeching reaction to the Yankees' introduction of Roger Clemens (before he was 3-5 after 10 starts).
Closer Dr. Charles, one of the radio voices, Sox player TBA all confirmed!
